The global energy market is valued in excess of US$6 trillion per year

A US$6 trillion annual industry not including investment, exploration and development. Demand is met by five, mainly fossil-fuel sources; Coal, Oil, Natural Gas, Nuclear and Renewables. The traditional fossil-fuels of Coal, Oil and Gas are a group of energy sources formed by ancient plants and organisms subjected to intense heat and pressure over millions of years.

Other sources of primary energy include Nuclear energy, derived from nuclear reactions used to drive steam turbines to create electricity, and Renewable energy sources including Hydroelectric, Geothermal, Solar, Wind, Tidal/Wave and Biomass.

China leads the world in fossil-fuel consumption and investment in Hydroelectric, Solar and Wind energy, creating the biggest energy revolution in earth's history. Genesis Infrastructure Partners upstream engagements have included Natural Gas, Solar, Coal, Carbon Capture and Sequestration.
